Stargate SG-1 is set to become one of the longest scripted series, going over 200 episodes joining The Simpsons, X-files and ER. Season 10 of SG-1 is in production and the third season of its offshoot Stargate Atlantis. There is a rumour from MGM Studios that a movie of Stargate will be produced - an extension of the current series. The movie will end to open up yet another Stargate franschise - a system simliar to CSI and Law & Order. Full Article. I hope the producers keep up the good work!

The series so far: With the Goa'uld defeated - Earth's enemies for the last 8 seasons... there is a new enemy in SG-1's sights... The Ori. The Ori are from another galaxy and are formidable enemies as they are much more powerful sice they are ascended beings. Their goal is to take over worlds, trying to convert them to their religion - the more people they get to worship them, the more powerful they become. Right now, it seems impossible to defeat these guys - do you think it would take another 7 seasons for SG-1 to defeat the Ori? Time will tell. Meanwhile, in Stargate Atlantis, the humans there are fighting against the Wraith. The Wraith are basically life suckers who feed on human life.
