Qualified Professional Photographer

Was looking through the job advertisements today and I found that the PowerHouse museum based in Sydney is looking for a photographer. It's interesting to note the qualifications required by such a position:
# Diploma of Photography TAFE Course 5383 (or equivalent)
# Certificate IV in Digital Colour Pre Press TAFE Course 5384 (or equivalent)

The job listing:

Produce photography of collection objects to ensure accurate documentation of their condition.

This is a temporary position up to 30 June 2007. Applicants must be able to work at either the Museum's Ultimo or Castle Hill sites as required.

Total remuneration package to: $47,947.00 ($41,099.00-$43,450.00)

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and produce photography to a high standard.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with a variety of photographic techniques, especially digital images
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computers skills and familiarity of appropriate software packages
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume workload, set priorities and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexibly and successfully as a member of a team.
  • Diploma of Photography TAFE Course 5383 (or equivalent)
  • Certificate IV in Digital Colour Pre Press TAFE Course 5384 (or equivalent).
  • Drivers Licence
  • Knowledge and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ethical Practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ethnic Affairs Priorities Statement (EAPS), & Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
