Based in North Sydney, the role will see you coordinating daily activities involved in running a top ranking national website and driving business development. Liasing with music promoters, venue operators and touring artists, your written and verbal communication skills will be top notch and an established bed of contacts in the entertainment industry will be a distinct advantage. A background in web based marketing or communications will also be a very significant factor in your suitability to this role.
Ideal for someone who wants to combine their entertainment industry experience with their flair for exciting web; success in this role lies in you growing an established website past its competition using your creative drive and nose for compelling content and editorial.
Your Role:
• Monitoring content delivered through the website and validating its editorial integrity.
• Formulating and driving new business.
• Developing marketing initiatives and strategies.
• Working with staff to ensure that day to day operations successfully translate to quality content.
• Managing advertising traffic and working with external marketing teams.
• Developing a calendar of upcoming major events and coordinating website activities accordingly.
• Working with an in-house team of programmers on upcoming developments.
• Producing weekly email mailouts for one of the largest subscriber bases in the country.
• Coordinating activities of contributing photographers and writers.
• Extending the website brand through publicity and web technology.
You’ll Have:
• Passion for the entertainment industry and nightlife in general
• A knowledge of the entertainment website landscape both within Australia and internationally.
• Passion for the internet and a demonstrated ability to understand the online space and the content opportunities within it.
• Knowledge of HTML and Photoshop skills
• Comfortable working with Internet communications and publishing tools / protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
• The ability to point your creative mind at questions of strategy and marketing as well as content and presentation
• An established network of contacts within the web, marketing or entertainment industries.
