Dark City: Sydney Filming Location

Just turned on the TV tonight and saw that "Dark City" was on. Never heard or watched it before but this movie came out in 1998. There is a mixture of Aussie and American celebrities in the cast lineup. Some familiar faces like Melissa George (Home and Away, Alias) and Colin Friels (Water Rats) star with Kiefer Sutherland (24), William Hurt (The Big Chill, The village) and Jenifer Conelly (Once Upon a Time in America, A Beautiful Mind). The interesting thing that motivated me to write this entry was the Sydney locations I recognised while watching the movie.

A little more digging revealed that the movie was in part produced in Sydney in Fox Studios. You can see a part of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, a section of Hickson Rd (Millers Point) (Yes the road with the high cement wall on one side), St James Station and the classic Red Rattler trains. I suspect in the upcoming Superman prequel Sydneysiders would definitely recognise key Metropolis locations.
