According to zeenews, the pile of chilli peppers around Isabel Roces is 250 kilograms worth. Do you really think the Thai peppers she is sitting amongst in the photos weigh 250 kilograms?
"Being healthy and kind is always in style," said Isabel Roces, who was recently named Fashion Model of the Year by MTV Philippines. "So whether you want to slim down
and get healthy or just clear your conscious, there's no better way than to go vegetarian.""This is the first time we've ever done anything this hot," said Jason Baker, a PETA spokesperson. One past PETA advertisement featured Baywatch star Pamela Anderson wearing a bikini made out of iceberg lettuce. Ms Roces, a vegetarian who has posed for Peta ads before, volunteered her services as she was already in Thailand on another assignment.
The Filipino model, who has been an ethical vegetarian since childhood, joins American actor Pamela Anderson in PETA’s pro-vegetarian campaign. She has graced fashion magazines all over Asia and has several commercial endorsements to her name.
Top professionals collaborated on her vegetable-friendly photo shoot—including photographer Toto Labrador, stylist Ana Kalaw and make-up artist Chechel Joson.Roces has shunned the all other diets except vegan for her compassion to animals. “Modern factory-style agriculture commonly keeps cows, calves, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and other animals in overcrowded stalls and cages, where they are unable even to turn around for their entire lives,” she points out.
Isabel Roces continues: “Most of the chickens in the Philippines are raised on cruel factory farms. Cows and pigs endure castration and other painful mutilations shortly after birth—without any painkillers. At slaughterhouses, animals are hung upside-down and their throats are slit, often while they’re still fully conscious. Marine scientists confirm that fish feel pain, as all animals do.”"For this ad, which we hope to get sponsors for in Thailand or the Philippines, we wanted to use a Thai vegetable, and lemon grass just didn't work so we opted for chillies," said Baker.
