Increase Blog Traffic With Reciprocal Review Carousel

Here is yet another way to increase your blog traffic: this time its called the Reciprocal Review Carousel; first started on this page. by Alex Sysoef. I got introduced into the concept by Carlo Selorio. The goal of this linking strategy is to combine Web 2.0 technologies and share some resources to ours and your readers (if you choose to participate - just follow the instructions below...).

— copy and paste the Reciprocal Review Carousel and instructions below this line —

Reciprocal Review Carousel idea is based on few simple and yet effective link-building and bloggin techniques I have learned:

Build value of the blog by creating a link from within content.

Provide a value to community by doing a review on blog you personally like.

Link to YOUR blog has exact anchor text you want and helps you boost Google Rankings.

No more then 30 outbound links from any page to prevent penalties for link farming.

Viral effect of the link – as more bloggers participate, link to your blog with YOUR anchor text, coming from quality content post will spread.

Here is How to participate:

Copy the entire text between the specified lines.

Create a post on your site and put at least one paragraph explaining how you joined the Reciprocal Review Carousel.

Paste the text you copied into your post.

Remove the Bottom Review and At the Top add your own review with a link to a site reviewed, at least 2 sentences about the site and a note – Reviewed by: Your Anchor Text. Link your anchor text to your site. Here is an example:

Error Pages and Blog.Photos2View.com

I got a little carried away when I created this website with my website categories. I treated it like a windows file system, just having folders and folder of topics and subjects to file away the 500+ pages that this blog currently has. So I ended up with URL's that were VERY VERY LONG.

So addresses like:
http://blog.photos2view.com/marco/travel/locations/asia/china/shanghai/top-speed-on-the-maglev-in-shanghai ... ARE LONG GONE!

Anyway, You may see some error pages coming up because of this change but in the longer term, the search engines will start indexing the pages and you will be able to search for those pages you are after.

Google Useful Search Operators for noobs

1. link:www.yoursite.com - Show's you some/most of the links google counts to your page. Handy to find out who is linking to you, or whos linking to the competition
2. related:www.yoursite.com - find sites google deems related to any given site
3. site:www.yoursite.com - search the pages of a specific site
4. allinurl: shows only pages with all terms in the url
5. inurl: like allinurl, but only for the next query word.
6. allintitle: shows only results with terms in title.
7. intitle: kind of like allintitle, but only for the next word. "intitle:webmasterworld google" finds only pages with webmasterworld in the title, and google anywhere on the page.
8. cache:url gives you googles cashed (what google has on record) of a site
9. info:url will give you some info about a given site
10. spell: - does a spellcheck (you don't have to do this, google will spellcheck any words searched)
11. stocks: does a search for stocks
12. filetype: does a search for a specific file type, or, if you put a - in front of it, it won't list any results with that filetype
13. daterange: is supported in Julian date format only. 2452384 is an example of a Julian date.

Configuring my Drupal installation for MediaTemple Hosting

My previous host lost a week's worth of data - Thank God I had a regular back up regime to fall back on - otherwise i really would be starting my blog from square one. I recently converted to MediaTemple hosting - a reputable host among internet users according to many forum postings (If you decide to signup with them - tell them that "photos2view.com" sent you in the signup form). The one time it did go down was from a power outage in Los Angeles. Other webhosting services I've subscribed to in the past all died because of their own fault.

Anyway, a new host means a whole new set of small customisations to make my backed up website files and my backup database work with the new website server constraints.

maximum number of internal redirects reached

So I uploaded the files, created a database, uploaded my database there and had the frontpage of my website running. the problem was when I clicked on any internal link I would get a page that came up when I tried to access the page was "Internal Server error." I only found out what was actually happening when I accessed the server error logs. Ask your host or in MediaTemple (mt) you can find it in the error folder.

The first error from the server logs I got was:
"mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use 'RewriteOptions MaxRedirects' to increase the limit if neccessary."

"Made for Adsense" Content based Websites

It is against the Terms Of Service (TOS) for Google Adsense to be placed in websites "Made for Adsense". I have seen a few, but google simply removed their access rights to the Adsense program when they abused this clause. These websites below are definitely NOT simply made for Adsense.

These websites hold content, which is useful to any visitor - and even with Adsense turned off, remain as functional websites.

This website below uses Adsense sparingly - which makes me wonder if it effective. It probably is as it "fits" well into the website design.
Holiday accommodation Scotland, Holiday Homes Scotland, accommodation Scotland

Now here is a network of websites which I believe exist with the sole purpose of monetizing their visitors through the Adsense program. The network consists of PageWise.com and essortment.com - Thousands of free online articles on everything

An example of a few of their websites follows:
Photography tips, hints, ideas, and articles

Javascript Bust out of frames from Google Image search

Javascript Bust out of frames from Google Image search...

It's simple: Just paste these lines in your code:

if (parent.frames.length
> 0) top.location.replace(document.location);

The main concern it that Google images can suck bandwidth from your website - and this technique eliminates any frame - especially for Google Images - So you can potentially monetize your visitor.

The Sources: (They both seem to have the same content?)
SEO Black Hat Black Hat SEO BlogFrame-Buster Best. Javascript. Ever.

Resize the Comment Boxes on Drupal - CSS input boxes:

Just use percentage values:

.item-list .title {
width: 80%;
}

Resizing the Comment Box
