Nastia Liukin was born on October 30, 1989, in Moscow, Russian SFSR, USSR. Her parents are two former Soviet champion gymnasts: gold medalist Valeri Liukin who won the 1988 Summer Olympics gold and Anna Kotchneva who is the 1987 World Clubs Champion in rhythmic gymnastics. Her nickname Nastia is a Russian diminutive for Anastasia.

When Nastia Liukin was two and a half years old, her family moved to the United States after the breakup of the Soviet Union. At the age of three, Nastia was "always hanging around in the gym" with her parents, who could not afford a babysitter to look after her while they were working as coaches. She competed in her first National Championships as a junior in 2002, when she was 12½ years old.

During that competition, Liukin suffered a fall on the uneven bars which rendered her unable to finish the routine. She continued through the rest of the competition and finished 15th, which landed her one of the final spots on the U.S. National Team. She was chosen to compete with the U.S. team at the 2002 Junior Pan American Championships, and there she contributed a gold medal and placed second on the uneven bars, balance beam and all-around.

Michelle Renee was an abused runaway, at times homeless, during her teenage years. But that didn't stop her from becoming successful in life. Renee became a bank executive. However, her life was shattered and was changed like she wouldn't ever imagine when she, at age 35, and her 7 year-old daughter were kidnapped, held hostage, and taped with explosives. Michelle was then forced to rob a bank. Luckily, after 14 hours of being held in captive, she managed to save their lives.

Because of her resiliency, inner strength, courage and optimism, Michelle Renee became the MSN Hometown Hero for her work with survivors of violence, abuse and trauma. She is now known as a radio & TV host/personality, an award-winning published author, international speaker, owner of dreamBIG® Consulting, and Creator/Founder of Women Who dreamBIG and Rock to Stop Violence.

Michelle Renee is also the creative consultant and associate producer for a new film based on her book, Held Hostage. The film is set to depict not only the violent kidnapping and brutal judicial process for victim/witnesses, but also post trauma, recovery, inner-strength and how critical treatment is in a very real, sensitive, and honest way so that the viewers can relate to it in one aspect, if not all. The movie will be aired on July 19, 2009 on the Lifetime Movie Network.

Leonard Bernstein was born on August 25, 1918 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to a Russian Jewish family. His grandmother insisted that his first name be Louis, but his parents always liked to call him Leonard. Bernstein's father initially opposed to his interest in music. Despite this, his grandmother frequently took him to orchestra concerts. Bernstein, at a very young age listened to piano performances and was immediately captivated so he subsequently began learning the piano.

During his teenage years, Leonard's enthusiasm for music exploded. He staged amateur operas, dabbled at composition, and played on a radio show sponsored by his father's beauty supply company, a harbinger of the broad scope of his future professional activity. He became particularly adept at improvising variations in the styles of various classical and pop composers. Lennny, as what people sometimes call him, practiced the piano voraciously at all hours of the night. However, he was rather the type of player with a spontaneous outburst of the sheer joy of playing and invention.

Jason David Schmidt is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was born on January 29, 1973. On December 6, 2006 in Lewiston, Idaho and is a born-again Christian. Schmidt considers his place of childhood, Kelso Washington, home. He was a 1991 graduate of Kelso High School where he lettered in Football, Basketball and Baseball. While in this school, Schimdt once threw a seven-inning, 20-strikeout no-hitter against Hoquiam High School. During his senior year, he tossed a no-hitter, striking out 20 of 21 batters he faced.

Schmidt was then named Washington's Gatorade State Player of the Year and All-State MVP in baseball. A scholarship to the University of Arizona was offered him but Schmidt chose to sign with the Atlanta Braves after they drafted him in the 8th round of the 1991 MLB Draft. And from there, Schmidt made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Braves, starting 11 games and finishing with a 3-4 record and 2.38 ERA. He made his major league debut in relief on April 28, 1995 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Schmidt recorded his first ML victory in his first start, pitching eight scoreless innings against the Chicago Cubs on September 3, 1995.

Who wouldn't know the TV series "Friends" which dominated our screens from 1994 to 2004? One of its casts, Rachel Green, or Jennifer Aniston in real life, set new trend in hairstyling with her bouncy, square layered cut. Jennifer Aniston was born on February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California. She grew up in New York City. Showbiz was really in her blood as this fine woman was the product of actor John Aniston and Nancy Dow. She was married to one of the hunks of Hollywood, Brad Pitt, on July 29, 2000 in Malibu. Before their marriage, they had been in relationship for 21/2 years. However they got divorced in October 2005. The separation was caused by another famous actress Angelina Jolie, who reportedly fell in love with Brad Pitt during the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The two are now married and had children.

Despite these, Jennifer Aniston maintained her composure and could be quoted as saying, "No daggers through the heart. I laugh. Am I surprised?... Considering the source, nothing surprises me". Indeed, Jennifer Aniston is one woman who could surpass every trial in her life. She concentrated on her career and focused on making more movies. After her divorce, Jennifer Aniston's love life hasn't been a boring one. She was linked to different eligible bachelors in showbiz, namely, Vince Vaughn, Paul Sculfor and John Mayer.

Michael Jackson, or more popularly known as "The King of Pop", surprised and shocked the world with his death at such a young age. He was born on August 26, 1958 and was the youngest of the 7 children. Michael Jackson launched his career as young as 11 years old, as part of the Jackson 5, together with his brothers. He debut as a solo artist in 1971. Michael Jackson was the first African-American to gather together a strong crossover following on MTV with his songs "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" which transformed music videos into art, particularly by introducing and popularizing physically complicated dance techniques like the robot and the moonwalk. The King of Pop's music has become so popular that some of his albums were included in the top world selling records, the "Off the Wall" (1979), "Thriller" (1982), "Bad" (1987), "Dangerous" (1191) and "History" (1995).

Prior to his death, Michael Jackson has been renting a Bel Air home which costs $100,000 per month and was described as a chateau estate with 7 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater.

I've always been a fan of Mariah Carey. She as born March 27, 1970 Huntington, Long Island, New York and is an American singer–songwriter, record producer, and actress. She made her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, and became the first recording artist to have her first five singles top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993, a series of hit records established her position as Columbia's highest-selling act. According to Billboard magazine, she was the most successful artist of the 1990s in the United States.

She was working as a songwriter for Interscope Records (Januray 2008) all the while beginning to play her music around New York City. Akon recognised her vocal talent and signed her to his label: Kon Live Distribution. She began working with a collective called the "Haus of Gaga" in 2008 and released her debut album The Fame, which she explained was "about how anyone can feel famous." Lady Gaga has been influenced by fashion and has been appreciated for her provocative sense of style and her influence on other celebrities. Musically, she is inspired by glam rockers such as David Bowie and Queen as well as pop singers like Michael Jackson and Madonna. Gaga is a natural brunette, though her hair has not been its natural color since 2008. According to Times Online, her hair is bleached because as a brunette, she kept being mistaken for fellow singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse. She has been quoted as having said:

Natalie Portman or in Hebrew: נטלי פורטמן‎ was born as Natalie Hershlag in Jerusalem on June 9, 1981 and is an Israeli American actress. I remember seeing her for the first time on Léon (aka the Professional) starring alongside Jean Reno when she was only 13 years old. She is more widely known for the role as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. She was also quoted as saying that she would "...rather be smart than be a movie star," completed a bachelor's degree in psychology at Harvard College while she was working on the Star Wars films. Portman has been a vegetarian since childhood and is an advocate for animal rights. She does not eat animal products or wear fur, feathers, or leather. "All of my shoes are from Target and Stella McCartney," she says. On the concept of the afterlife, she comments: "I don't believe in that. On the set of some random Victoria's Secret photoshoot sexy Adriana Lima grabs a man's crotch. I don't know the context of this occurrence or when it happend but I love the expression on the guy!. Adriana Lima has also been seen on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother in November 2007 and the American television series Ugly Betty. And I'm sorry guys but she's off the market: In 2009 Adriana married Serbian basketball player Marko Jarić; they wed in a private civil ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on Valentines Day. Jarić and Lima originally planned on an extravagant wedding in Salvador in June 2009, but the couple decided to opt for two weddings in each of their hometowns, both are scheduled to take place at the end of 2009.

In the same week as Cassie's nude scandal we get a bonus scandal for the weekend - yet another celebrity scandal, this time concerning Rihanna. Pop superstar Rihanna is has been hit by a shocking nude photo scandal — reportedly triggered by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown - in the series of photos there is a photo of a male — believed to be Brown — with pink panties pulled over his head. The Barbados-born singer's real name is Robyn Fenty. Rihanna, 21, can only be clearly seen in two of the photos, in which she is fully clothed. Another picture shows a man who bares a striking resemblance to Rihanna's ex-boyfriend Chris Brown with a pair of pink knickers on his head. The six self-taken images have appeared online just days after topless pictures of R'n'B starlet Cassie Ventura were leaked on the net. One of the revealing photos shows a scantily-clad woman, resembling Rihanna, in front of a mirror scrawled with the message: 'I love you, Robyn. I miss you'. The scandal comes as her 20-year-old ex Brown faces felony charges relating to an alleged assault on Rihanna earlier this year.

Two years ago Cassie Ventura posed nude for Allure magazine. And now nude photos of her have been leaked last week for all to see. Apparently some smart ass hacked her computer and leaked the Cassie's photos. We have had our share of scandals in the past: from Vanessa Hudgens to Vanessa Minnillo. Meanwhile, Cassie has acknowledged that these photos are of her both in her twitter account and her official fan website:

Cassie had a hit song a few years called "Me & U". She released a single a few weeks ago but it didn't do too well in the R&B charts. Some conspiracy theorists are wondering if this "leak" was a planned publicity move.
